Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 23, 2026
1. Introduction
Davids Tool ("we", "us", "our") provides a software-as-a-service platform that records sales calls, generates AI meeting notes, and drafts documents from those notes. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Davids Tool website at davidstool.com and the web application accessible from it.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information — name, email address, profile image, and authentication identifiers when you sign up or sign in.
- Google account data — if you connect Google Calendar, we access your calendar events (read-only), your profile information, and your email, using the scopes you authorize. We use OAuth 2.0 and never see or store your Google password.
- Call content — audio recordings, transcripts, and meeting participant names and emails that you upload, record in-browser, or import via a connected recording tool (e.g., Recall.ai).
- Documents and templates — contract templates, proposals, and other documents you create, upload, or generate inside the product.
- Usage and device data — IP address, browser type, pages visited, and actions taken, for security, diagnostics, and product improvement.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Davids Tool service.
- Detect upcoming meetings from your Google Calendar so we can offer features such as auto-joining meetings, recording, and summarization.
- Transcribe audio and generate meeting notes and draft documents using third-party AI providers (currently OpenAI).
- Authenticate users, secure accounts, and prevent fraud or abuse.
- Communicate with you about your account, product updates, and customer support.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use data obtained through Google APIs to serve advertising, and we do not use it to train or improve any AI models.
4. Google User Data
Davids Tool's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
When you grant Davids Tool access to your Google Calendar (read-only scope), we:
- Read upcoming calendar events to surface meetings you may want to record or summarize.
- Store the minimum event metadata (event ID, start/end time, meeting link, participants) required to run those features.
- Never sell, rent, or share your Google data with third parties except service providers that are subject to equivalent obligations.
- Never use your Google data for advertising or for training AI models.
You may disconnect Google at any time from your Davids Tool account settings, or by visiting your Google Account permissions page.
5. How We Share Information
We share information only as necessary to run the service:
- Service providers — cloud hosting (Vercel), database and storage providers, email delivery, authentication providers, AI model providers (OpenAI) for generating transcripts and notes, and meeting-recording providers (Recall.ai) when you opt in.
- Legal and safety — where required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Davids Tool, our users, or others.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to you.
We do not sell personal information to third parties.
6. Data Retention
We retain account information for as long as your account is active. Call recordings, transcripts, notes, and documents are retained until you delete them or close your account. We delete or de-identify personal data within 30 days of account closure, except where longer retention is required by law.
7. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including TLS in transit, encrypted storage at rest, scoped access tokens, and access controls for personnel. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you.
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Disconnect third-party integrations (e.g., Google Calendar) at any time.
- Object to or restrict certain processing, where applicable.
You can exercise most of these rights directly from your account settings or by emailing us at h.leejoo99@gmail.com.
9. Children
Davids Tool is not directed to children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International Transfers
We may process and store data in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards for cross-border transfers.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by email or an in-product notice.
